Music, Mantras, Shlokas, and Stotra chants are an integral part of yoga practice and spiritual growth. Through the power of sound, mantra, and rhythm, music helps to elevate the practitioner’s consciousness, creating a deeper sense of connection to the self and the divine by cultivating a meditative state, enhancing mindfulness, and fostering emotional and spiritual healing.
Since the age of 6, Chinmayee has had the privilege of performing musical concerts with her mother, Smt. Srilakshmi Govindaraj (M.A. Music). As a respected teacher of Carnatic classical music and a co-founder of the Saphalya Institute of Yoga and Music (Est. 1999), her mother has instilled a deep passion for music and its connection to spirituality. Over the years, Chinmayee has performed in numerous concerts in India and the US alike, drawing from the rich Carnatic tradition and the transformative power of music. These performances have shaped her growth as both a musician and a yoga practitioner, expressing not just technical proficiency but the emotional and devotional depth of the art form.
Chinmayee considers herself truly fortunate to share her musical journey with her musically inclined husband, Aneesh, who sings, plays various instruments, and composes music. Together, the duo has collaborated on numerous projects that seamlessly blend their shared love for music and yoga, creating compositions that inspire and uplift. Some of the work can be found on the YouTube channel, aptly named "Naada Yoga." Chinmayee is excited to share these pieces with you on this webpage, each one reflecting the profound connection between music and yoga, and nurturing the mind, body, and soul.
